What Dentist Encourages After Periodontal Surgery

After undergoing a periodontal surgery, dentist encourage their patients to eat soft, no-spicy foods, that is neither too hot or too cold. Normal diet can be resumed as soon as the dental patients feels comfortable doing so. Normal healing will be disturbed by the cleaning of the surgical area, and should be avoided.

It is common to experience slight amount of bleeding after periodontal surgery. Better avoid rinsing, spitting or sucking through a straw right directly after the surgery as it can result to additional bleeding. If bleeding still continues, it is best that you contact your dentist immediately.
